LAI FC MISSION STATEMENT
Live as Imagined started as a mantra for me to live a better life and to live any way I could possibly envision for myself and those around me. I was going through tough times as kid with two parents abusing drugs and not really being the foundation that a child needs to pass on into adulthood. I never thought LAI FC would come to me the way it did but here we are a year plus later building a foundation in which I’d love to leave our legacy. I want LAI to give purpose to kids and adults that seek an escape from the troubles of life. Football provides this in so many ways, through connections, exercise and if done well, the lifelong bonds it creates for those that participate.
I want LAI to stand as a reminder to people that feel like there’s no way out of their daily obstacles. Football refocused my life to something I never thought it could be. At 29 years old and 14 years of enjoying the beautiful game, I find myself immersed in every aspect of the game from playing to refereeing. My goals with LAI are to start a non-profit organization that provides camps to kids free of charge. The cost of camps and a soccer season tend to be very steep for most families and I’d like to provide what was never provided for me as kid to those that could use it going forward. I want this to be my way of giving back to the game that saved my life so many years ago. The kids that excel in this training program will be given a track to join LAI FC in the leagues we plan to grace going forward and as time progresses become a pathway to professional athletes. I plan to train and hire coaches as well as network with performance groups and physical therapy practices to ensure the experience is as flushed out as possible. I want people to understand everything that goes into being an athlete, and use that focus to make their lives better. Even if you don’t become a professional player, the discipline, consistency and guidance will be key in achieving their goals later in life.
LAI will continue to grow as we try to make changes not in the sports world but our communities at large. I have the utmost belief in my Co-Owner, Head Coach and players as we continue to build and grow ourselves. Part of that growth is giving back to where we came from. I believe in making life easier for those that come after us and as a team we will strive to make this dream a reality.
